Uses

Everyday carry includes a Pilot Metropolitan fountain pen, an atomic analog face wrist watch, keys, wallet, coinpurse, business card holder, and a Rhodia No. 12 dotpad for quick notes.

Extended everyday carry includes a messenger bag containing a laptop, charger, a library book, my Rhodia Webnotebook bullet journal, and a lunchbox with food and water.

Laptop is an HP EliteBook 840 G2 running Fedora Workstation with 8 GB RAM.

Phone is a Western Electric 2500 hooked up to a Grandstream HT802 analog telephone adapter, routed to JMP.chat.

Pants come from Katie's Mercantile and are broadfall trousers made of black cotton twill. Suspenders are from Gohn Brothers and are half-inch in navy color.

Software

Fedora Workstation is my operating system of choice. I value greatly the principles of free software and strive to do all my computing with it.

Pika Backup keeps my files backed up with Borg Backup.

Gajim is my messaging app. Most of my messages come through it, but supplemental messaging apps include Delta Chat and Fractal for Matrix. I check email with Evolution.

Firefox is my web browser of choice. I use it with Dark Reader and uBlock Origin extensions with JavaScript disabled by default.

GNU Emacs is my text editor of choice.

Tuba handles my Mastodon social media.

Shortwave provides me with hours of music through radio streams. I usually listen to Arkansas's KZHE or Kansas City's 101 The Fox. GNOME Podcasts provides me with news and other interesting shows.

Newsflash feed reader keeps me up to date with the news online.

Zoom is sadly still used, to participate in weekly prayer meetings at Kol Ami KC.
