Anxious Morning

05:55. Got up before alarm. Felt very anxious. Debated whether to get up for the day. Got dressed. Put on deodorant and Stetson cologne. Went downstairs. Ate Cheerios and soy milk. Got on laptop and checked email and Snikket (XMPP). Packed bag with paperwork, two Amy's bean burritos, library book, bullet journal, sparkling waters, tea bags, and laptop. Waited for ride to Wellbeing Center.

07:15. Got picked up. Picked up a few more people. Anxiety got better.

Wellbeing Center

08:30. Arrived at the Wellbeing Center. Had morning meeting. Signed up for chores: Vacuuming. Spent most of the day chatting online, reading and writing email, and talking to the people around the center. Could not get my usual walk in; it was too hot, at 92 degrees Fahrenheit. Throughout the day, I drank all four cups of tea, and I drank two sparkling waters.

12:00. Lunch was two bean burritos and an arugula salad. Sadly, the avocado was not ripe and could not be used in the salad dressing.

12:30. Meeting was a success. Medicaid is good for another year. Got a free travel tube of toothpaste.

14:30. Did chores. Vacuumed all the rooms.

15:30. Signed out. Rode home. Typed up the day's events on my laptop during the ride.

Home

16:30. Arrived at the post office. Checked the mail. Quite a few messages, but none for me. Walked home.

16:50. Arrived home. Checked email. Got a message from tdback, to help with my TLS issues on my site. Sent him the logs to Nginx and Certbot. Read an article about how the Amish use technology carefully.

It's a good list. Unplug one day a week. Unplug an hour a day. Evaluate your beliefs and values, and ask yourself if a given technology distracts from them or helps them. Don't automatically accept the latest and greatest. Block parts of the internet that are distracting to your mission in life. Keep phones and communication devices out of the family areas.

17:55. Talked to an administrator at IRCNow. I think I might take him up on his offer to rejoin training and become a volunteer system administrator. I need experience for a good résumé, after all. He says I can focus on XMPP stuff once I'm done demonstrating proficiency in traditional IRC stuff. I've already done most of it, so it will be easy. I set up my SSH key again so I can log in to various hosts. I logged into COM on sdf.org successfully. I'm all set. Sent an email to IRCNow admins with an explanation of my experience, what I'd like to work on, and my SSH key fingerprint.

19:55. Worked on IRCNow: Subscribed to the mailing lists; got web server up; tried to get HTTPS working. Dinner: Ate a plate of Breakfast Lentils with roasted potatoes and Sauerkraut. Finished it off with a can of mandarin oranges. Fixed Fraktur CSS to emphasize text with letter-spacing. Got HTTPS working on IRCNow host.

Breakfast Lentils

20:50. Having issues setting up nsd on IRCNow's OpenBSD host. Taking a break for the night. Going to chat and listen to the radio.

21:00. Brushed teeth. Chatted online for a few more minutes. Shut down most apps on laptop.

21:43. Went to bed.
